In August, a Quest Kodiak came through on its way from a missions fest in Pennsylvania. The folks on board wanted to see MMS and while they were here, offered rides. While Lucy was still present, she didn't fly because she is a wiggle worm and would probably be afraid of the noise anyway. However, she enjoyed watching from the ground...until it got loud.

Jonas told Caroline that if he wore his captain's hat, he would get to fly the plane.
It didn't quite work that way.

He did good talking on the mic and looking around without getting scared.

Apparently Ol' No.1 is the first production Kodiak and is the show plane for Quest. The Kodiak was designed specifically with missionary flying in mind. It combines the best of the designs from past planes into one plane that boasts impressive performance and capabilities for the challenges faced in rugged terrain. It is replacing older planes and planes that use Avgas since Avgas is getting to be extremely rare in most countries.

Jonas stands watch while patiently awaiting his turn for a ride.

It is great fun to see, touch, smell, hear, and ride on a plane that I may get to fly/work on someday soon. Sometimes plugging away day in and day out on the same project that can't fly yet can get monotonous. But this opportunity was a great way to make it real again.

Thanks for making our ministry at MMS Aviation possible.

Maybe someday I'll get to wear the captain's hat. :)
In HIS Love,
Ben
