The wonderful... and expensive... world of flight!

I thought I'd give you a look into the outrageous pricing of aircraft parts in this blog.
These are all parts off of the project I am working on which is a Cessna 402.

Horizontal Stabilizer Tip
We are going to repair the other side, but had we decided to buy it from Cessna, they have it listed at about $1,200.00. Yikes!!!
Leading edge rib off of the same structure listed at around $167.00. There are six on one side as seen in the photo below. We were able to recreate all but one of them at probably around $10.00 a piece... if even that much.

The shiny metal skin you see here needed replaced due to a lot of dents, bad repairs and holes in it. Cessna has it listed for about $736.00 but we were able to make for around about $20.00.

It is really exciting to see the savings we can give the ministries that we serve. The super high prices of the aviation industry make the gap between the cost to buy and to make even larger than I would have normally expected. Of course we can't make everything, but for the things we can, it is definitely worth a little extra time and effort.

Thanks for making our service at MMS Aviation possible and may God bless you.

Ben
