Not the spirit of fear but of power, love , and a sound sound mind.. Praise the Lord

As Ben and I check off another answer to prayer , I can't help but silently sing a camp song I know, " Spirit of Fear", hence the title of the blog.
Now as we embark on this next journey of our lives I wonder how I can explain all that is happening to us in a few short paragraphs. So I decided to answer the most common questions we are asked.
What is the TE at JAARS?
The TE at JAARS is the first step to be accepting as a pilot or mechanic at JAARS. It consists of one week of maintenance testing and one week of flying. It ends with a debrief at the end with all the examiners and upon their decision acceptance or not. The TE tends to carry a scary connotation with it and can make a grown man sick to their stomach or fumbling in fear . Thankfully by God's grace Ben was cool as cucumber and thought the test was enjoyable something kind of unheard of but an answer to prayer.

What does JAARS Stand for?
JAARS - Jungle Aviation and Radio Services is the support side of Wycliffe Bible Translators when it comes to flying.
So did Ben pass of fail the TE?
Ben did pass the TE and upon that we were asked to join JAARS. They said Ben is just the right type of "Airmen" they are looking for.
So what are we going to do next ?
We had a meeting with JAARS and Wycliffe consultants and they advised Ben and I to begin our application to Wycliffe and upon the interviews we will then be accepted as official Wycliffe missionaries. After acceptance we will then begin the training with Wycliffe in Feb though April of next winter and spring. After which we will begin summer orientation in July of next summer . I have a week of training for SIL in Dallas next summer and then I will have my teacher credentials met. After training in Dallas we will then move ASAP to North Carolina to JAARS to begin orientation in July/August. The orientation consists of flying/ overseas training / as well as family preparation . After orientation we will then go to ICC ( Intercultural communications course ) to prepare us to live overseas , this training last a month. We will then spend spring of 2015 making last minute arrangements to go overseas and in August of 2015 we will move overseas to begin language training in Madang , Papua New Guinea
This is where JAARS is located.

By now you maybe lost and might want to ask, why so much training?
Well for us moving overseas for four years at a time is no small task , especially with  three kids under the age of 5 are involved so as much training is appreciated to be ready to be career missionaries not just short term.
What you will be doing when you are not training during those time periods?
We will be helping our kids prepare to move overseas and grow up a bit as well as deputizing and soaking up last moments with our friends and families before many miles separate us .
What is your short term plan until February?
We will be deputizing some and Ben will continue to help at MMS part time .
Thank you for your love and faithfulness and hopefully someday soon this blog will be filled with pictures of Papua New Guineans whose hearts have been changed because of you .
