Christmas and beyond...

The kids have been studying about clay in art, even Miles got in on the action and don't worry it is only a butter knife. :)

Jonas working on writing his numbers.
The kids have been enjoying some computer time to practice phonics.

The sting ray that Jonas made out of clay .

Lucy made a cat and a flower .
Jonas made a snake and Lucy tried making a sting ray as well.
The kids are studying the human body for  the month of January . Here they are studying the bones in the body. Jonas was proud to inform his dad at dinner that night that kids have more bones than adults. To which his dad tried to argue until Jonas had him read the science book , daddy wasn't taking into account the fact that kids bones don't fuse together until they become an adult.

Miles enjoyed breaking the "bones" and watching them pop.
Lucy on the left and Jonas on the right.
For our Kansas friends this is as close to farming as we get.

Miles is working on dressing himself, I don't think he is quite ready to be turned loose.

As you can tell by the way the kids are dressing the weather here is a bit unpredictable ,80 one day 59 the next and yes 59 now means sweatshirt , jacket, and long pants , we are slowly becoming true Floridians.
Ben is busy in the hangar working on the planes and recently did a flight to Haiti and Dominican Republic, hopefully he will find time to write a blog soon because he does a better job of informing you than I can .

Other than that we are going through a small group study right now and I will start attending a small group for women in February. Ben goes to a bible study at the airport on Wednesdays during lunch. We are trying to reach out to those around us and so have been practicing hospitality as we get to know people better and get plugged in.
Please pray for wisdom in several big personal decisions we are deciding about as a family right now and we can figure out the steps God has for us in our future. Elizabeth Elliott once said , "When you don't know what to do next just do the next thing. " This has been our motto and has kept us very busy. Please also pray that I can find some close friends and feel more at home here in Florida.
