Home Sweet Home

Ben recently came home from his Rapid Response trip to Florida and we are very happy for that. After his Rapid Response trip, we went on a short family vacation to reconnect once again. We went to Pittsburgh, PA (only two hours from where we live) and to Bellaire, OH. We enjoyed having a long weekend with him to have fun as well as get things done around the house. We recently tilled up our garden plot and have started our seeds inside.
We took Jonas and Lucy to the Lego museum in Bellaire, OH. He and Ben were in amazement. Woody is directly behind them made completely out of Legos. Woody is one of Jonas' favorite Toy Story characters.
We took the family to the Pittsburgh zoo. We thought it was the best zoo we have ever been to for small children. The aquarium is just an example of that.

Walking through a tunnel to watch the sharks.

We traveled via wooden cable car to see Pittsburgh from up above.
At the top point of the wooden cable car ride. Behind the kids you can see the Pittsburgh Steelers' stadium.
During Ben's time away Jonas started his spring soccer season at Kids America in our town. Since then Jonas has played in one game and has four more as well as practices.
Jonas is sitting listening to his coach's instructions. His coach goes to our church which is an added benefit.
Lucy wondering why no one kicks the ball to her.
Jonas trying out his new shin guards. He wore them for a whole day before deciding to take them off for bath that night.
While Ben was away the kids and I celebrated Easter with a family from our church. The day before Easter the kids went on an Easter egg hunt at our church.

Since then we have been busy getting back on schedule and slowing down.Things are slowly becoming "normal" once again.

  1. Go Steelers! I've been to that zoo, although I don't remember it since I was a little kid. My dad is from PA, so we used to travel to PA about every other year when I was growing up. Looks like you've been keeping busy!
